How And When To Service Your RV
Most RVs aren’t driven every month out of the year. There are certain seasons when they hit the road. Keeping up with RV maintance can be a chore as a result of these driving habits.
Learn a few tips from our experts at El Monte Sales. Know how and when to service your RV right now.
Timing Your Service
Ideally, treat your RV just like the family car, reports Motor Biscuit. Beginner RV ownerships should expect servicing every 6 to 12 months.
Take a look at just a few areas that must be inspected and serviced when necessary, including:
- Engine
- Tires
- Electrical System
- Appliances
- Mechanical components, such as slideouts
Every RV service is based on the manufacturer’s recommendations, so be sure to read over the manual as soon as you can.
Basing Services on Mileage
RV maintance is also based on mileage, such as for the engine. Typically, the oil and oil filters should be swapped out between 3,000 and 4,500 miles. RV owners can keep a log of each oil service so that there’s no confusion over the last time it was performed.
If your RV has seen too many miles, it may be time to test drive a new vehicle.
